Rod Ends, Links and aircraft Spherical Bearings featuring the Dyflon self-lubricated liner are  used in submarines, rocket motors, aircraft landing gear and nuclear power plants, where premature failure is not an option.

Allied International is the oldest distributor of Southwest Products SWP aircraft self-lubricated spherical bearings and bushings. We have been supplying OEM’s and operators of aircraft and power generation gas turbines like the LM2500 with SWP aircraft spherical bearings and bushings for 50 years. In fact we were one of the original stockholders when the company was founded in the 1950s by Ken Hackman SWP inventor of the fluorocarbon Dyflon Self Lubricating liner.

After a production shut down, RBC Bearings purchased the assets of Southwest Products in September 2005. The new company, RBC Southwest Products Inc. continues to manufacture the same quality self-lubricated  bearings for which Southwest has been justly famous and Allied International continues as an international distributor serving the aerospace, naval and power generation markets.

Southwest Products manufactures the highest quality plain and self lubricated  spherical bearings. Detailed engineering and design is critical to realizing the advantages of advanced materials. SWP engineers use powerful CAD and structural analysis systems backed by 60 years at the leading edge of bearing design. With precision machining of materials such as beryllium copper, inconel, monel, A-286, vascomax and titanium, SWP produces bearing components meeting the highest standards of quality and performance.

SWP self-lubricating systems, DYFLON and KENTLON qualified to Mil-B-81820, Mil-B-81934, Mil-B-81935, Mil-B-81936, Mil-B-8942, and Mil-B-8976. Some of these self-lubricating are able to perform successfully in salt water applications, while others are moldable and machinable and still perform under Mil-B-81820 requirements.

Customers with critical applications like the landing gear of the C-17 or satellite antenna and solar panels, or nuclear power plants for submarine propulsion and power generation know that SWP’s time tested swaging methods guarantee superior conformity between ball and race compared to loader slot technology in meeting extremely difficult preload requirements.
